The Olsen twins started their acting careers while still just infants. In 1987 they landed the part of Michelle Tanner on Full House. It helped the show comply with strict child labor laws to have 2 babies playing the same part.

In 1993 they established a company called Dualstar to begin branding their image. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen commanded the preteen market for clothing and accessories in the late 1990's and the early 2000's.

They also starred in numerous movies together including New York Minute, which produced disappointing returns. Mary-Kate entered rehab in 2004 for anorexia nervosa. Rumors about a drug problem were never substantiated. Mary-Kate ended a relationship with Stavros Niarchos III, a Greek shipping heir. Stavros began a relationship with Paris Hilton shortly after and this created a rift between Mary-Kate and Paris. In January 2007 a cover story showed Mary Kate looking anorexic again. Mary-Kate will be appearing in as many as 10 episodes of the dark comedy Weeds on Showtime this summer.
